This letter is to express the appreciation the University of Miami has for the services Ronco Communications provides. Seven year ago the University distributed an RFP for service on our PBXs for the entire University, including all the remote campuses: the Medical School, the University owned hospitals, the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences, the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, and the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. Ronco offered the most complete offer and was selected. Since then the University has renewed our contract with Ronco twice, we found no other provider that could come close to Ronco’s offering. Additionally each time we have renewed our contract with Ronco we have expanded the scope of services Ronco provides and they continue to deliver. Action for a Better Community has used Ronco equipment for as far back as I can remember. Actually, we still have the very first system Ronco sold us in 1994. Do you take a chance or not? We had become dissatisfied with the company that provided support for our multi-site PBX for the past 10 years. Costs had gone up and service was not at the level we would have liked. Our Telecomm manager had attended telecommunications special interest group meetings and had a favorable impression of the Ronco folks he met at those meetings, so we invited them to look over our systems and tell us what they could do for us. Ronco provided a list of proactive as well as break/fix services for a very impressive price, so we decided to take the chance and contract with Ronco.
The chance paid off. Not only has Ronco fulfilled all promises and honored all of their contractual obligations, but we found that their technicians are first rate. Ronco techs were able to solve problems with our system that our previous provider deemed unsolvable. Additionally, as we investigate replacing our aging PBX plant, Ronco has stepped up with assistance evaluating replacement products beyond the traditional dedicated PBX system. Ronco engineers are not only experts at voice, but at the full range of unified communications vehicles as well.
All in all, I wish all the decisions we made turned out as well as our decision to have Ronco support our communications needs.
