Ronco Project Implementation Processes

(Note – these are Ronco C&E’s standard procedures. They will be altered to meet your specific requirements.)

Project Management – Each installation, upgrade or system move is assigned a project manager. The primary responsibility of the project manager is to interface between the customer and the operations team. Other responsibilities are to ensure that the equipment is ordered and received to meet the predetermined installation cutover date. The Project Manager conducts team meetings to ensure that the team is aware of the project goal and all involved know their duties as related to the task at hand. The Project Manager is on-site at cutover and provides quality assurance that the customer’s benchmarks are met. Communicating with the customer to ensure awareness of the project’s status is a vital responsibility of the Project Manager, who remains the single point of contact for the customer throughout the project.

Design Reviews - A system engineer, the design & layout team, the project manager and the lead technician review the project goals to ensure that the proposed design meets these goals. The manufacturer is included if necessary.

Implementation - The project manager makes the team aware of the customer’s requirements as related to each project. All team members meet to discuss and review their required task and come up with a procedure for the project implementation based on the time frame and the project requirements. The project manager communicates to the customer an overview of the minutes of the weekly meetings for the customer to review, approve and keep abreast of the progress of the project.

Installing and configuring systems and applications – Once the system is delivered to the site and built, the software is loaded and tested. The customer database is then programmed and verified. On existing system upgrades, the project manager and customer will set a time based on the customer expectations for the service effecting upgrade. On major projects, Ronco Communications & Electronics will have the manufacturer technical support on standby should they be needed to assist during the installation. The project manager and technicians are present the day following the installation for any post cutover issues.

Installing / Testing cabling and cable infrastructure – Ronco Communications & Electronics has certified cable managers and technicians capable of certifying and testing cable infrastructure. Ronco Communications & Electronics only uses certified cable subcontractors when the need arises.

System Testing – All telecommunications systems are tested before cutover. Our goal on the cutover date is to focus on connecting to the TelCo provider, testing instruments and other devices, and reducing the cutover downtime for the customer. Upgrades are installed and tested the night of the upgrade with the manufacturer support on standby if necessary. On all installation and upgrades (software & hardware) the project manager and technician will be available the following business day after cutover.

Quality Assurance – Our Project manager will be available to our customer every step of the way to ensure that all of their questions and concerns are answered and resolved. Each technician has the authority to call directly to the manufacturer if the technician or customer feels the need to do so.
